If you are in crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Therapy Index is a directory, not a crisis service.

Privacy

Therapy Index is built to be used without being watched.

Visitors

We do not run advertising or tracking pixels, and we do not sell or share visitor data. We keep standard server logs for security for a short period.

To understand which parts of the site people use, we run PostHog analytics, served from our own domain. It stores a random identifier in your browser's local storage, not a cookie, so it cannot follow you to other sites. It does not record your screen or keystrokes. Before anything is sent, search terms, ZIP codes, claim codes, and email addresses are removed from the page addresses it sees, so what you searched for is not tied to you. Browsers that send a Do Not Track signal are not measured at all.

Reports

If you report a listing, we keep the report, your optional email, and a hashed form of your network address to limit abuse. We use the email only to follow up on that report.

Clinicians

When you claim a listing, we keep your email as your sign-in and a record of how you verified. The fields you publish are public by design. You can edit or remove them at any time, and you can ask for the whole listing to be removed.

Listing data

Unclaimed listings reproduce facts from the public NPI registry maintained by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. That registry is published by the U.S. government for public use. Street addresses from the registry are not shown until a clinician claims the listing and chooses to show them.
